Not bad.jpg

That truck was almost on the Edge and out of control.

This brake check happened in Appleton, WI, and involved a Ford Edge that just drove off afterwards.

.......so did this one from earlier this year. What are the chances?

Damn, that ford got lucky. Also, I found it interesting how only a couple of the wheels locked up.

Do you want carmageddon? Cause this is how you get carmageddon. Should have turned them to axle grease and let the DOT recover the pieces of their shattered brake checking asses.

this has the potential for a click bait headline on the front page.
On a serious note, this was incredibly dumb on the edge driver’s part

I know this one, Alex. What is what happens when you put one jackass on the same road with one huge flaming asshole moron who deserves to be beaten about the head and shoulders with a stick?

My dad was rear ended once while stopped at a red light. He can no longer golf, do horseback riding, hunt, go backpacking, and had to retire a good 5 years early due to chronic pain. New car or not, it ain’t worth it.

with all that rubber on the road I can see how that stopping performance makes sense, but I am nonetheless impressed. If it had ABS and had avoided the rear-6 lockup it probably could have slowed even harder.

that sux, I was really nervous when I was rear ended because I have a rod in my back. I’d imagine getting rear ended by a truck of that mass would hurt a bit more than too.

That Trailblazer should have just plowed into the back of the Edge instead of trying to go to the side.

Lots of tailgating and bad decision all around, but brake checking is just stupid.

Nah, it looks like someone who got heated about the truck changing into his or her lane. That wasn’t a great move either, but it definitely doesn’t warrant this reaction. Calm down, people!

I would bet they’re drums on the back, pretty sure most commercial vehicles still use drums all around, which the exception being on the steering wheels.

They are all as bad as each other.

Driving too close.

Dangerous lane changes.

Brake checking.

Though one stupid act doesn’t warrant another.

I’m kinda leaning scam on that one - looks like he let the truck in to begin with, certainly enough room and the truck was just trying to get to the inside lane for more bridge clearance. Then when the Edge brake checked he abruptly braked but then let off just a bit so when/if the truck hit him it wouldn’t hurt to bad. Probably knew a pumper is less likely to have a cam too.
